THE ROLE OF THE INDICATOR OF ECONOMIC FREEDOM AND CORRUPTION IN THE ATTRACTION OF INVESTMENT: A FOCUS FOR COUNTRIES OF SOUTH AMERICA

Abstract

The aim of the study was to assess the importance of indicators of economic freedom and corruption and their effect on the economy of countries as measured by the attraction of foreign direct investment. It is understood that private investment has a close relationship with the conditions that provide the good relationship of the country with investors, those who go through economic and political aspects. In this context, it is relevant to consider income, corruption and the indicator of economic and trade freedom as a predictor variable, considering that these variables differentiate the countries freer and less free. Through the result, there is a need for reforms (internal structural changes) to improve indicators of corruption and economic freedom in the countries under study.
