IMPLANTATION OF A BUSINESS PROCESS MANAGEMENT OFFICE: A CASE STUDY .

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the reasons for the deployment of a Business Process Management Office, as was its structured and what are their activities on a day-to-day organization of the retail industry, distribution and logistics. This research develops a literature review on Business Process Management and Business Process Management Office, and presents a case study to identify the structure and the main activities of an Business Process Management Office. The study result shows that the organization has implemented a Business Process Management Office in order to establish management processes in their operations, to achieve its strategic goals and remain competitive in the market. The study generated the perception that the organizationof a Business Process Management Officehappens gradually and in a unique way and that its activities are developed according to the structure of the company, that is, in a departmentalized way, tending to segregate the functions of regulation, and improvement and coordination of processes.
