Abstract
Business enterprises, as part of their responsibility to society, can and must contribute to employment and entrepreneurship. They can contribute through direct employment creation, resecting human dignity, and in particular through the reduction of youth unemployment through their participation in apprenticeship. They can also participate, indirectly, through employment education programs. They can contribute to enterprise creation as part of their supply chain development and as part of local community development. Can and should also contribute directly to entrepreneurship through their strategic philanthropy programs and the support of intrapreneurship and indirectly through the support of entrepreneur mentoring and the development of institutions and policies. But all of this requires a supporting ecosystem, in particular of supportive public policies, especially in education, financial system development and legal framework. These activities can be enhanced through alliances between companies themselves, with the public sector and civil society organizations, both in policies and in activities.
