RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN GOVERNMENT TRANSPARENCY AND REPUTATION .

Abstract

The goal of this study is to determine the effect of the transparency level on the reputation of governments worldwide. Documentary research was performed with 35 countries ranked as having the best worldwide image according to the Reputation Institute ranking of 2010. In the data analysis the focus was on the application of multiple linear regression. The survey results indicate a positive association between transparency level and government reputation of the country. It was concluded that countries with higher transparency level present higher reputation than nations with lower transparency level. It was also found that the most indebted countries have higher reputation than countries are less indebted.
