INFLUENCE OF EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABILITY ON THE PERCEPTION OF ACCOUNTING SCIENCE STUDENTS ON THE CONNECTION OF WATER, ENERGY AND FOOD RESOURCES

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze whether education for sustainability influences the perception of accounting students about the FEW-Nexus. The study is descriptive, quantitative and was carried out through a survey. The sample analyzed was characterized by a profile of a young student, with a small predominance of female workers, who were in their first graduation course. Most of the students surveyed took a course related to sustainability and considered the content covered for professional practice to be important. The results show that students' knowledge of sustainability issues significantly influenced the perception of the water and food elements of the FEW-Nexus. It is concluded that education for sustainability can be an alternative to raise awareness of young professionals, who will in the future work in the management of public and private organizations, facing the challenges of FEW-Nexus.
