POBREZA Y GLOBALIZACIÓN ¿EXISTE CORRELACIÓN CONDICIONAL? UNA APROXIMACIÓN DESDE AMÉRICA LATINA

Resumen

En este artículo se investigó el impacto de la apertura comercial sobre la pobreza en 13 países latinoamericanos durante el período 2002-2012. Para ello, se construyó un panel de datos y se realizaron una serie de estimaciones econométricas por medio de efectos fijos y efectos aleatorios que luego se contrastaron mediante el test de hausman. Posteriormente, se realizó un chequeo de robustez utilizando diferentes medidas de pobreza. Por último, se realizaron tres predicciones lineares controladas por financiamiento interno, capital humano y efectividad de gobierno, con el objetivo de evaluar si existen diferencias cuando se controla por estas variables.
