TELEWORKING IN THE PUBLIC SERVICE: A LONGITUDINAL STUDY WITH ADMINISTRATIVE TECHNICAL STAFF FROM A BRAZILIAN FEDERAL UNIVERSITY

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the expectations and perceptions of administrative technical staff working at a federal university before and after the implementation of teleworking. Two rounds of interviews were conducted, one before the start of teleworking in the academic unit where the respondents were based, and another four months later. The data collected was analyzed using the Content Analysis technique. The results obtained indicated that the servants had very positive expectations before teleworking began and also made it possible to identify the main benefits and disadvantages perceived post-implementation.
